It's one of my favorites songs from Muse and I really liked this version.
Before the actual song, there's a little excerpt of some kind of interview with Matthew talking about the dark tone found in some musics and the "collaborative creative process" of the band. Quite interesting if you ask. I've transcribed it:
"I think with the band we're kind of showing a lot sides of ourselves, we're not just kind of narrowing it down to just one style, one voice, one opinion. I think you can hear within any album a number of contradictions both musically and lyrically. We're just kind of exploring into fringe a little bit... the fringe of your imagination, the fringe of your abilities. Some songs for me are kind of really touching on the unknown, in my own self if you like, and then sometimes you can stumble across something a bit dark. I think that's just humanity, you know? I think it's not anything particular with us. I think that if any person explores all the regions of their own imagination, they're gonna stumble across some dark caves somewhere."
